Leigh L. Burnett, M.C.D., CCC-A, FAAA Audiologist Leigh Burnett received her Master of Communication Disorders degree and her Bachelors degree from Auburn University. Leigh completed her externship under the direction of Dr. James Jerger, one of the pioneers of modern Audiology, at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Leigh is a doctoral candidate for the Au.D. degree from Central Michigan University.
Leigh has a wide range of experience in the field of audiology including, but not limited to pediatric, adult and geriatric assessment. Her special interests include neuroaudiology, hearing aids, aural rehabilitation and early identification of hearing loss. She has been employed in the ENT physician practice setting since 1988 and has been working for the same physicians since 1990. Leigh is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice audiology in the State of Alabama. Leigh is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
Leigh has been hearing impaired since birth and wears hearing aids in both ears.
Suzanne L. McNew, Au.D., CCC-A FAAA Audiologist Dr. Suzanne McNew was born and raised in Fort Payne, Alabama. She received her doctorate of Audiology degree from East Tennessee State University, and her Bachelors of Science degree from Auburn University. Suzanne has a special interest in working with the pediatric population, individuals who suffer from tinnitus, and patient education. Suzanne recently completed a research study concerning patient education and follow-up, which she presented at a national audiology conference in Minneapolis, MN.
Suzanne has been hearing-impaired since birth and wears hearing aids in both ears.
Anita Payne Administrative Assistant Anita Payne is an Alabama native with 20 years of combined experience with the public in the medical and hearing healthcare field. She took over the daily operations of Hoover ENT Audiology in the summer of 2006. Her dedication and rapport with the patients is exceptional. Anita will be happy to help you with any need that you have.
Edwyn L. Boyd, MD Location: Hoover Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates, PC Dr. Edwyn L. Boyd is a board certified ear, nose, and throat specialist and has practiced in the Birmingham metropolitan area since 1982. He is a past president of the Birmingham ENT Society, past president of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and past president of the Pan American Allergy Society. He is currently the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy's representative to the Sinus and Allergy Health Partnership. He is the author of numerous publications in professional journals and textbooks.
Donald J. Wittich, MD, FACS Dr. Wittich is a board certified otolaryngologist. He completed medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and did his residency training in ENT at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He has been in practice in the Birmingham area since 1987, and a partner with Dr. Boyd at Hoover Ear, Nose and Throat Associates since 1990. He has special interests in sinus and nasal surgery as well as sleep apnea. Hoover ENT treats both adult and pediatric ENT problems.
